According to the National Personal Data Protection Center of Belarus, an agreement on cooperation in defending the rights of individuals with personal data has been reached with the State Agency for Personal Data Protection under the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Belta reports.
The parties also agreed to joint events, scientific research, expert assistance in drafting regulations and law enforcement strategies, as well as long-term cooperation in the protection of data subjects’ rights and data protection. They also agreed to interaction on issues related to improving the national legislation of the two countries in these areas.
According to Andrei Gayev, director of the National Personal Data Protection Center, Belarus is particularly interested in Kyrgyzstan’s practical experience with maintaining a register of personal data and its owners because Belarus is currently developing a state information resource called the “Register of Personal Data Operators.”
Nuria Kutnaeva, the director of the State Agency for Personal Data Protection under the Kyrgyzstan Cabinet of Ministers, emphasized the interest in the Belarusian experience in carrying out educational programs, including professional development, technical, and cryptographic protection of information.
