Rosaviatsia announced the expansion of the geography of regular flights from August 27 to Egyptian resorts from 49 Russian cities.
“The number of flights on the Moscow-Hurghada and Moscow-Sharm el-Sheikh routes is also increasing, from 5 to 15 flights per week,” Rosaviatsia said in a statement.
The Federal Air Transport Agency received applications from 13 Russian airlines for flights to Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh on 90 routes.
In addition to the Rossiya airline, flights will be operated by Aeroflot and Siberia airlines from Moscow to Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh.
Aeroflot will have up to seven flights a week on each route, while Siberia will operate one flight a week to Hurghada, and two flights a week to Sharm el-Sheikh.
The number of flights from Moscow will also be increased by Rossiya Airlines to 7 flights on the Moscow-Hurghada route and 6 flights on the Moscow-Sharm el-Sheikh route.
Ural Airlines will start flying on the Zhukovsky – Hurghada route, and Azur Air on the Zhukovsky – Sharm el-Sheikh route.
