Russia’s national fishing department announced on Thursday that it has filed a claim against Norilsk Nickel, the world’s largest nickel and palladium supplier, for $801 million in damages related to an Arctic fuel leakage last year.
After 20,000 tons of petrochemicals that leaked out of a power plant in the industrial district of Norilsk last year in May, Rosrybolovstvo stated last year that it would take decades for an Arctic river to rehabilitate, Reuters reports.
