Serdar Berdymukhamedov, the president of the Republic of Turkmenistan, visited the Astana International Financial Center while in Kazakhstan for an official visit. Kairat Kelimbetov, the governor of the AIFC, welcomed the delegation, Kazinform reported.
The work of the AIFC Bodies and Organizations, including Astana International Exchange (AIX), AIFC Court and the International Arbitration Centre, Astana Financial Services Authority, Green Finance Center (GFC), Tech Hub, etc., was introduced to the president during the visit, according to the AIFC’s official website.
The President of Turkmenistan learned about the benefits of the AIFC’s jurisdiction and the Center’s accomplishments, as well as the unique legal system based on common law principles and standards, tax perks, and visa incentives that are in effect there.
The operations of the AIFC Green Finance Center received special attention. It was mentioned that the GFC had previously developed a plan to create the Turkic Green Finance Council. The Central Bank of Hungary, the Union of Banks of Kyrgyzstan, and the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States all backed the plan during the Astana Finance Days meeting. The Ashgabat Stock Exchange and the AIFC Green Finance Centre currently work together, and the center is prepared to establish an office there.
The Parties decided to continue building their relationship after the meeting, including in the area of the green capital market.
