Aleksandr Lukashenko, the president of Belarus, has concluded his official visit to Tajikistan, Belta reported.
According to BelTA, the president’s aircraft departed Dushanbe for Astana.
The sixth summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) and a meeting of the CIS Heads of State Council will be held in Astana on October 13 and 14, respectively. The Belarusian president will attend both events.
The head of state of Belarus met with Tajikistan’s president, Emomali Rahmon, during his official visit to discuss ways to boost bilateral ties, particularly in commerce and the economy, as well as ongoing and upcoming projects.
Following the discussions, Belarus and Tajikistan agreed a roadmap for the development of their partnership through 2026 as well as a number of other important instruments in a variety of disciplines.
Aleksandr Lukashenko also had meetings with Mahmadtoir Zokirzoda, the head of Tajikistan’s Majlisi Namoyandagon (House of Representatives), and Kokhir Rasulzoda, the prime minister.
The Tajikistan-Belarus business forum and the Made in Belarus exposition of Belarusian machinery and goods were both conducted in Dushanbe concurrently with Alexander Lukashenko’s visit. Enterprises from Belarus signed deals of close to $50 million.
